Whats the need of ornaments?

हस्तस्य भूषणम् दानम् सत्यम् कण्ठस्य भूषणम् ।

कर्णस्य भूषणम् शास्त्रम् भूषणैः किम् प्रयोजनम् ॥

hastasya bhūśaṇam dānam satyam karṇasya bhūśaṇam stotrasya bhūśaṇam śāstram bhūśaṇaihi kim prayojanam

Charity is the ornament for hands. Truth is the ornament for speech. Hearing the scriptures is the ornament for ears. Where is the need for other ornaments?

ससर्ज क्षेमाय

दिवाकरं चापि निशाकरं च

तारागणं चापि विहायसं च।

प्रभन्जनं चापि धनन्जयं च

ससर्ज क्षेमाय नृणाम् विधाता॥

लतासु पुष्पाणि वनेषु वृक्षान्

फ़लानि वृक्षेषु फ़लेषु सारम्।

पुष्पेषु रूपं गन्धं च शोभनम्

ससर्ज क्षेमाय नृणाम् विधाता॥

वर्षा वसन्तं शरदं हिमान्तं

शैत्यं निदाघं च दिनं च रत्रिम्।

नक्षत्रचक्रं सुमनोहरं हि

ससर्ज क्षेमाय नृणाम् विधाता॥

नमो नमः‘सुभाषितानि’ पृष्ठे सूक्तीन् प्रयोजनीयम्।एवम् एव ‘संस्कृत कथाः’ पृष्ठे संस्कृतभाषायाम् कथाः ददन्तु।

(Do add Subhaashitaani(Sayings) and Sanskrit Stories in their respective pages.)

न सा सभा यत्स् न सन्ति वृद्धाः
वृद्धा न ते ये न वदन्ति धर्मम् ।
धर्मो न वै यत्र च नास्ति सत्यम्
सत्यं न तद्यच्छलनानुविद्धम् ॥

It is not an assembly where there are no elders.
They are not elders if they do not teach Dharma.
It is not Dharma if it does not contain truth.
It is not truth at all if it is charged with decite.
